No matter if you're a pop fan or a blues man, Lake of the Ozarks is home to some of the most diverse and incredibly talented musicians and entertaining music festivals that you could imagine.
One of the most highly celebrated venues that the Lake of the Ozarks has to offer is the Lake of the Ozarks Blues Society. Established as a way to highlight the grit and power of the Lake's established blues artists (and, of course, up and coming tellers of the tale), the LOTOBS offers some of the richest performances of the blues tradition and gives fans of the genre the chance to see masters at work. Some of the most noted blues bands and musicians in the Lake of the Ozarks area are the 32nd Street Band, Abandoned Cadillac, Rich Berry, Crazy Chester, Nathan Keck & the Underground Blues Division, and The Vic Vaughan Band.
Of course, the Lake isn't only known for its incredible blues artists. The local jazz scene has also made a big splash and given the Lake the recognition it deserves as a spring of artistic integrity. The Lake of the Ozarks Jazz Society also hosts a set of concerts and events designed to introduce locals to new artists and visitors to some of the Lake's most established jazz musicians. Established in 1994, the Jazz Society highlights the foundations of jazz music as well as the future of the genre.
There are a number of venues that play host to local musicians and bands. If you're looking for a night on the town full of music, don't disregard some of the bars in the area. Donna's Ice House hosts invigorating, live hard rock music every night. If you're into the thrashing and no nonsense of the genre, then your best bet is to head over to Donna's for a night you'll never forget --which also includes bands who play bluegrass, metal, punk, country, and alternative.
If you're looking to hire a band for an event that you're throwing, look no further than local party band W A N T E D. This band has all the trappings of the most experienced bands in the world, playing anything from Top 40 to Funk to R&B. All one has to do is get their information from their MySpace page and be well on their way to booking one of the Lake's most sought after bands.
